Now We Are Free

I am star-stuff

Violet, Violent, golden and red-

I cling to you as we glide, flawless material

bunched and groped beneath flayed-white

marble-hands, slick skin open as the pavement beyond us

between us...

I am star dust....

I let go as we fall

I am alone

I am one.

Knees first, we smash the ground, like

the yawning indigo-like-sky between us

beneath us....

I am... scattered, like glitter on

a cold, gray canvas, fallen embers and silver winter-leaves

I am splattered, no mess of consequence

for the world to clean up;

There are flower stems, and....

I am star dust;

Now, we are free.
